Sunday was the Yudetide double race around Fritton Woods. The race involves a relay race with duo's being picked then a quick one and a quarter mile run around a circuit. With over twenty club members in attendance it was bound to be a competitive morning event. This years victorious team was led by London marathon competitor Nicola Baker who, with help from ex-olympian Paul Evans, won this years award. Once the running bit was out of the way, it was down to the Decoy pub for drinks and snacks
followed by a game of killer darts which was won by club treasurer Rod Shulver.

New Years Day 10k.
It looks like the members from the Great Yarmouth Road Runners have made their usual new years resolution to get out there and compete in large numbers at events around the county. As soon as the first race is staged twelve members took to the Wymondham New Years Day 10k around the villages surrounding Wymondham itself. The route is popular with runners as it includes an undulating profile with some fine vistas. First club member home was Mark Thompson closely followed by Sean Jermy. Steve Dady finished well as he is overcoming injury while beating first lady home Lorrain Dawson. John O'Leary ran strongly as did London Marathon competitor Ivan Lees as they both beat off the challenge coming from Peter Spandler who himself will be training hard for the upcoming Stratford Marathon. The first personal best of the year went to Dianne Crosby, but Chuck Weigard also obtain his first, of many, pb's this year. Both of these athletes will be on the bus to Stratford as well. Ann O'Leary and Bob Arnell had their own contest with each other with Ann coming out victorious on this occasion. Jim Spong also ran well while starting his training for the Stratford half marathon.
Results.
Mark Thompson 37.50, Sean Jermy 40.01, Steve Dady 46.28, Lorrain Dawson 49.23 (3rd in age group), John O'Leary 50.11, Ivan Lees 53.19, Peter Spandler 54.11, Dianne Crosby 57.06 pb (3rd in age group), Chuck Weigard 57.40 pb, Ann O'Leary 1.02.51, Bob Arnell 1.04.50 and Jim Spong 1.09.52.
