Four Club Runners travelled to the Mid-Norfolk Village of Oxborough to compete in the Ryston Runners AC hosted Wissey Half Marathon. In addition to being the 8th of 10 races counting towards this year's Grand Prix Series, the event was also host to both the British Masters Athletic Federation and Eastern Veterans Athletic Federation Championships for 2015.
The cool and overcast conditions that greeted the runners on arrival soon changed once the race started with the cloud breaking and the sun beaming down on to the course. Clearly this did little harm to the stronger athletes with some terrific performances being achieved in the various age categories and i feel a special mention is deserved for the wheelchair athlete Justin Levene who clocked a superb time of just under 46 mins.
Despite some hampered preparation GYRR put in a solid team performance with Sean Jermy achieving a new Personal Best Time and maintaining his lead in the Senior Men's Category of the Grand Prix Series with just two races to go.
