Ultra Marathon, Parkrun and awards

Matthew Sutton ran the Country to Capital 45 mile ultra marathon on Saturday, 23 miles cross country through the Chiltern Hills then 22 miles along the Grand Union Canal into central London. Took 7hrs 29 minutes and came about 40th (results not official yet) out of 250 starters

Excellent turn out last Saturday at Park Run, 13 Road Runners in a strong field of 120. Some excellent times with a few just seconds off personal bests.

Richard Blake, 62, from Ludham cycled to Wymondham, a pedal of fifty miles to attend the 2011 annual awards. Following the New Years Day 10k Richard, currently a member of Great Yarmouth Road Runners achieved a notable treble. First in the Runners Centre Grand Prix 60 - 64 age group, the eleventh time in thirteen years. First in the Norfolk Marathon with a time of 3 hours 14 mins 42 secs at Chester, to go along with two golds and two silvers earlier in the year in the over 60's. The Road Runner of the Year is based on a minimum of three county championships races age graded, the fifth time in seven years.
