Run Norwich 10k 2015
It was an early start for the Great Yarmouth Road Runners taking part in the first ever Run Norwich 10k on Sunday. 11 members of the club ran through the city centre streets and past many of the city sights in what proved to be a tough but enjoyable race.
The hilly course and congestion at the start meant that this was never going to be a day for PB times. The predicted rain passed over well before the start and the impressive field of over 3800 runners set off.
First home for the Road Runners was Marc Evans in an impressive 40:07 and finishing 110th overall. In 367th place was Mark Stone with a time of 44:39.
Stuart Canwell ran in 3rd for the club 45:32, closely followed by Jonathan O’Hara 45:44 and the evergreen John Bone 46:41. James Chaplin-Madden carried on his impressive recent form by finishing in 46:46.
First woman home for the club was Toni George finishing in 50:51.
Kevin Bayes (55:39) and John Bound (56:26) both completed the course in well under an hour.
Sam O’Hara really enjoyed the race and the atmosphere finishing in 1:06:13.
Joanne Illingsworth completed the set for the Road Runners crossing the line in 1:11:16.
