As always at this time of year the media coverage running goes into overdrive. With marathons taking place all over the country at all times of the year, members of the Great Yarmouth Roadrunners were again ready, willing and able to take on this mammoth event after last weeks successes at Bungay. Yet again the effort that goes into the training evolved in running 26.2 miles was matched by the endeavor in obtaining sponsorship for many worthwhile causes. Amongst the many deserving charities who would have their coffers swelled thanks to their fundraising are RNLI, Guide dogs for the Blind, Leukemia care, British Lung Foundation amongst others. In conditions that suited the long distance runner the only thing on the mind of the athletes was finishing followed by finishing in a time they had hoped for. Thanks from the runners must also go to fellow club members who did the club trip to London to support the runners with their encouragement.
