Loch Ness Marathon
On Sunday 25th September 2016 at 10.00am two Great Yarmouth Road Runners, Michael French and Lisa Smith stood on the start line of the2016 Lochness marathon
Not only were these two on the way for a 26.2 mile run back to inverness they were going to run by the Loch to see if they could spot the monster whilst the time clicked away along with the miles.
Lisa Smith is registered Blind and Michael her Guide Runner for the event completed his first marathon.
The pair completed the event in a personal best for Lisa with her 3rd marathon this year and a very good first marathon time of 4 hours 38 minutes for Michael.
The course was incredibly beautiful with many highs and lows. mainly the course but of course with the emotions of the event.
Lisa was the only visually impaired person this year taking part in the event.
The event was amazing and the people of inverness and the surrounding communities were amazing. The marshals and the whole event was incredible. We would recommend highly to anyone wanting a fast challenging course. We will be going back next year for definite. Also to find that monster.
