Great North Run 11th Sept 2016

A healthy turnout of 9 GYRRs at the World’s largest half marathon well and truly put Great Yarmouth on the map.

Lining up with around 50 000 fellow runners, including third time race winner Mo Farah, the club runners all had different reasons for making the long journey up to Newcastle. Some were raising money for charity,  others were there to support friends and club mates or just chasing a time.  Several were first timers, including Jane Thomas and Darren Honour, who joined race regulars Paul Greensides and Penny Studley who ran in fancy dress.

One thing is for sure everyone had a great weekend in the north-east sunshine inspiring fellow club runners to apply to be part of the fun for the 2017 race.  Well done team.
