Bungay Festival of Running, Manchester Marathon and East Coast Triathlon.
In the usual high standards set by the Bungay Blackdog Running club this years running festival matches the best. In the full marathon were Kyle Ella, Matthew Sutton, Karen Manning and Tony Anderson for the seasiders who all completed the hilly course in good times. Perfect weather conditions combined with strong training made for an enjoyable mornings outing. Kyle Ella ran his usual strong and determined race in his first of many marathons with Matthew Sutton using all of his previous 48 marathons to finish competitively. Karen Manning continued to run at her consistent pace to finish just over the four hour mark with Tony Anderson completing his second marathon in a fortnight. Running the half marathon for the Great Yarmouth Road Runners were Stuart Canwell, John Bone, Peter Spandler and Carole Spong. Stuart Canwell led the club home followed by the ever green John Bone with Carole Spong continuing to push herself to ever higher standards. Peter Spandler finished easily and is now considering doing the full marathon next year. This first year of the Bungay Running Festival also had a 10k in which Lorrain Dawson and Jessica Vincent competed for the club. Lorrain Dawson used the race as the final training run for this weekends London Marathon and Jessica Vincent finished her first 10k in club colours.
