On Sunday the 1st September a few GYRR set off the A47 to Wissey.
With a 10.30 start and the summer Sun was still out in full and a delayed start due to the queue for the toilet. The crew took to the country route. The marshals were great and jelly babies and water on hand around the course.
Terry Hubbard was on cracking form again along with Mark Stone. Pauline Leeves had a great run and won her age category with first Lady. Fiona Williams again on ever increasing form got a Pb by around 4 minutes. Another one under the running belt for her. Coach Andrew Baker took the reigns guiding Lisa smith around the course trying to help her along with her marathon training and support her. Coach Baker guided excellently around the course, but Lisa was not the best student. Whoever said that Wissey was a flat and a personal best course, even though Fiona got one, I think may have told a slight fib.
A nice little half and nice cakes at the end. Mark, Terry and Andrew never found the beer to fill up their glasses that we got for running.
Report by Lisa Smith.
