Valentines 10k Easton, Norwich 18-2-18
Perfect weather awaited the 521 runners in the 10th staging of the Valentines 10k road race. The race, hosted by Norfolk Gazelles Running Club, started and finished at Easton College near Norwich.
17 members of Great Yarmouth Road Runners (GYRR) attended with all age groups represented from senior to over 65. With this race being the 2nd of 11 Grand Prix races throughout the 2018 road race season it attracted a high quality field.
Sean Jermy continues to enjoy a run of outstanding form. He is in training for April’s London Marathon. He earned a Personal Best (PB) time of 35.03 showing that he has mastered a good balance of speed and endurance in his training. He also finished in an impressive 7th place overall.
Anna Coulborn also earned a PB, narrowly missing out on a sub 50 minute time in 50.01. With Anna’s rapid improvement she will undoubtedly reach her target this season. She also came 2nd in her age category.
It was good to welcome newer member, Emma Cook, who ran her first race in club colours since embarking on last summer’s ‘Couch to 10k’ beginner’s course.
The results for team GYRR are as follows: Sean Jermy 35.03 (PB), Marc Evans 36.27, Gary Pillar 43.25, Penny Studley 43.59 (3rd in age group), Mark Stone 44.11, Kevin Fuller 45.13 (PB), Paul Reeve 45.38, Anna Coulborn 50.01 (PB and 2nd in age group), Jane Trudgill 52.02, Emma Dawson 51.58, Emma Crow 52.48, Pauline Leeves 52.58, Ivan Lees 53.56, John Bound 58.42, Emma Cook 1.04.28, Alison Bilyard 1.05.44, Anita Betts 1.15.43.
