A Good Friday to sneak in the SUDBURY 5 MILER.
I ran in the Sudbury Fun Run 5 mile race on Good Friday. It was a tough course with 2 steep inclines at 3.1 miles and the steepest at 4.5 miles. However, the last part of the race was a steep decent with a tight turn into the field to finish some 100m further on. I did think the Sudbury Joggers marshals might be catching me at this stage as my legs just ran away with me, and the tight turn was a lucky manoeuvre on very tired legs!!
My time was 44.19 mins, and I only managed 5th in my age category but great to run a race at my speedy sister's, Sandy Thorogood's, Sudbury Joggers Club. There was an excellent field of 430 runners.
