Perfect running conditions, met the runners on this cold February morning. Running in the Half Marathon GYRR’s Jane Thomas was accompanied by fellow friends Sarah Crockett and Hannah Dean (BBDRC). The sun was shining, and resulted in a fabulous run for all. The run started at Whitwell station, and followed the old Marriott's railway line, along the disused railway path, finishing at Aylsham town hall.
The trail was not an easy one, with lots of mud, and what seemed like an eternal incline! But the views were amazing over sprawling Norfolk countryside on a perfect February morning. The run was brilliantly organised by Positive Steps, and as usual providing the best refreshments during and after. Trail running is great fun, especially trying not to fall over in the mud!! It can be tough at times, but totally recommend this run to everyone. Jane Thomas’ finishing time was 1hour 58min.33.
Going double the distance at the same event were the following GYRR: Matt Buckoke, James Carass, Terry Hubbard, Eirin Thompson and Darren Adams. Congratulations to James who ran his first ever marathon.
