Along with just over 100 other runners Karen Peck ran the new race of the Marriot's Way Trail Marathon on Sunday 19th February. The race started at Alysham station and finished in Norwich's Sloughbottom Park.Karen was treating this as a training run for the South Downs Way 100 miles Ultra Marathon in June and kept to her usual consistent pacing with good results and was pleased with her 4.29 finish which was the plan, enabling her to recover quickly and continue with the distance training in the coming weeks. Karen was fortunate enough to run the last 10k with an experienced ultra runner who had completed a 50 miler the day before so was happy to pick up and discuss training plans and finished the run with him. Many thanks Steve from Bury St Edmund's who is running 147 miles in April. Karen was also met by hubby Andy who ran the last 5 miles with her as he is training to accompany Karen for the last few miles in June. Do try this run next year as it had easy trails to follow and mud which I love and there was also a half marathon. A superb run for anyone training for Spring marathon.
