Lowestoft Scores Race 10-9-17
Ten hearty Road Runners made a short journey across the border to take part in the 22nd Lowestoft Scores Race hosted by Waveney Valley Athletics Club.
Some describe this annual meeting as one of toughest races of the calender with runners having to tackle 401 steps with inclines, declines and hills to negotiate, the distance is approximately 4.7 miles with the first 2 miles flat before the hard work begins!
First home for GYRR was Steven Baker thrilled with taking 30 seconds off his previous time from last year whilst James Carass making his Scores debut ran superbly for second with the ever consistent Mark Stone third for the club.
First lady home was Nadine Heseltine in a sensational Personal Best time and picked up the award for 1st Veteran Lady, a fantastic achievement. Matt Buckoke enjoyed his birthday run and the ever green Paul Westgate ran his quickest Scores race for 7 years and has now completed 19 out of the 22 years!
Personal Bests kept coming for two more delighted ladies, Julie Webster dipping under 40 minutes and Jane Trudgill. Finally Tony Ludlam and Rachel Acamon-Carbonelli rounded up an outstanding day for team GYRR!
