There were Santas and some elves that were among the 7 Great Yarmouth Road Runners that fancied some muddy running on Boxing Day at the annual festive event, the Groggy Doggy hosted by Bungay Black Dog.
All seven of the GYRRs did the 2-lap course round Outney Common on a glorious sunny day through water and plenty of mud. Karen, Nicki and Lorrain were back for more from previous years but for Jane, Fiona, James and Terry this was their first time. Most decided to enjoy the run and just get round but James and Terry got off to a good start.
For those hardier souls not going through the water and muddiest of puddles isn't an option, and Jane did try her best to get out of it on the second lap getting a few metres ahead of Karen and Nicki, but with shouts from behind she had no choice but to leave the bridge for the wimps (James) and go through with us. The 3 finished together with James and Terry ahead and Lorrain keeping Fiona company, running well with a cold. It certainly did get rid of any cobwebs that might have accumulated over Christmas. All had a super time and will be back for more.
