Edinburgh Marathon Festival (EMF) Half Marathon 26-5-19
Two members of GYRR made the trip to Edinburgh to take part in the long-established EMF half marathon.
The race started in the heart of the city, heading past the castle along the iconic Princes street. Then out along the promenade, heading to Mussleburgh racecourse with a big loop finishing at the park.
The run was well organised and supported with lots of encouragement on the way round.
Like all mass city events there was a lot of congestion early on, resulting in walking several sections.
Fortunately, the predicted heavy rain held off and conditions were good for running, with light rain and drizzle on and off.
With the congestion and weather, Jane Thomas ran an awesome 2 hours and 1 minute. Tony was a further 18 minutes behind.
