Bungay festival of running 2-4-17
Full marathon.
On what felt a summer's day, Team GYRR headed to Bungay for their Festival of running. Four of us lined up to start the full marathon at 9am. Nigel forgot his watch so we hoped he did not go too quickly at the start. He had been training with Cathy so was hoping for an enjoyable run despite his nerves.
I have just guided and supported my totally amazing friend Lisa around the marathon with Cathy supporting us as well. Physically she was brilliant but today found noise of people not on her side and found it hard to hear me. She ate the course up in her stride, that was not difficult but sometimes little things just don't click. Cathy and I were not going to let her give up when she wanted to at half way so we bullied her round like all good friends and support teams do. She ran a determined and strong marathon finishing in style. Guiding this lady is one of the best things I have ever done.
