Bungay Black Dog 10k Summer Series Race 1 7-6-17
Eleven Great Yarmouth Road Runners turned out for the first of the three 10k races hosted by Bungay Black Dog Running Club. The mid-week race is advertised as multi-terrain because in addition to running on the quiet country lanes the final 1.7 miles is on a trail before finishing on the grass track in the running centre.
Amongst the 180 finishers, GYRR put in strong performances. Mark Stone was the first GYRR home in 43.55. This was Mark’s 2nd 10k in less than a week so he was pleased with his race.
Pauline Leeves ran as a race adjudicator. It was her job to check the course met regulations.
Three members picked up mini silver plates for first in their age groups. Congratulations to Penny Studley, John Bound and Carole Spong.
The next race in the series is on 28th June. Full results for GYRR are below:
Mark Stone 43.55, Penny Studley 46.26, Nadine Heseltine 47.43, Ivan Lees 51.27, Lorrain Dawson 52.20, Pauline Leeves 54.19, John Bound 56.04, Carole Spong 57.31, Sarah Cutherbertson 60.08, Leigh Taylor 61.22 and Bob Arnell 68.30.
