Welcome to the Great Yarmouth Road Runners Website. Our club was formed in 1988 when twenty-four runners attended the inaugural meeting. Seven of those are still members of the club.

We are a friendly club and are open to runners of all abilities. Not all members are interested in competetive running; some simply to keep fit or lose weight. Others have watched events such as the London Marathon on TV and thought they would give it a try. Whatever the reason, all are encouraged and we have seen a good number of "joggers" turn into "elite" runners and have even produced County Champions at individual and team level.

We currently meet for club training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm. During the winter months at the Marina Center, Gt. Yarmouth and summer training at Cliff Park High school in Gorleston. All members are encouraged to take part in the organised training runs which have been designed for all abilities.

We also provide an excellent social calendar: Our Annual Xmas Dinner and trophy presentation, summer barbeque and games, various quiz nights- to name but a few. Other events where we have entered runners are the Round Norfolk Relay, London Marathon, Gt North Run, The Grizzly, Coniston 14 and various County Championship events.
